Rhys Ifans (born Rhys Evans on 22nd July 1968) in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales) is a Welsh actor.
Tonight, scores of readers let us know that actor Rhys Ifans announced on the Friday Night with Jonathan Ross program broadcast this evening on the BBC that he would be appearing in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. While Mr. Ifans did not state which role he would be portraying, TLC can report that Rhys Ifans will be taking on the part of Xenophilius Lovegood, Luna's eccentric father and publisher of the Quibbler magazine. A rather fitting photo of Mr. Ifans as an elaborately garbed person can be seen here. During his appearance, TLC reader Neil writes that Rhys Ifans said the "HP wardrobe people flew out to Spain to fit him for his robes while on the set of Mr Nice," a film which is now in post production. Rhys Ifans has appeared in many films, notably Notting Hill, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and the soon to be released The Boat that Rocked. First reported earlier in the week, it is now confirmed that Domhnall Gleeson (son of Brendan Gleeson, Mad-Eye Moody) has been cast as Bill Weasley in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows films.
Domhnall Gleeson is a Tony-nominated actor, who was reluctant at first to play a part beside his father, but is now quite eager for the role.
Domhnall Gleeson is an Irish actor who will play Bill Weasley in the film adaptations of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He will work alongside his father, Brendan Gleeson, who has portrayed Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody since Goblet of Fire.
He was nominated for a Tony Award in 2006 for his role as Davey in the play The Lieutenant of Inishmore.
The French Harry Potter site, L’ Univers de Harry Potter , spoke to Jamie’s manager at the Cannes Film Festival. Jamie’s manager confirmed what had long been rumored on Harry Potter sites, that Jamie Campbell Bower would be playing the role of Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is currently filming on the UK seacoast. The next installment, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was originally slated to open last November, but Warner Brothers changed their date to July (in fact they recently changed it to open two days earlier than announced) which opened up the opportunity for Twilight to run unchallenged in the teen market this past fall.
